Meineke Fort Smith

Oil Change - Fort Smith, AR Meineke Car Care Center at Rath Auto

Did you know that Rath Auto Resources is the only independent dealer in the area with a full service shop. Not only do we have that, our Meineke Car Care Center has been ranked the #2 in the nation! People have been trusting their vehicle with our service department for years.

I recently took my car to Meineke / Rath Auto for new tires and had (not surprisingly) another great experience. My Husband and I purchased both our vehicles from Rath Auto and I have taken my car to Meineke for oil changes and general maintenance ever since I bought it. We have always been impressed with the service we have received. This is my first time to purchase tires from Meineke and I should not have been surprised that they offer very competitive prices for tires. I got my quote from Meineke and called around to several other places before making a decision. They offered the best price for the tires I was looking for so I made an appointment. Jon was so helpful and got me in very quickly. The tires I was originally interested in were not available when I came in but Jon and Phillip recommended a different set with even better warranties that I am absolutely thrilled with. I really appreciate the consistently great service from Meineke / Rath Auto. I have been doing business with them for almost three years now and no complaints yet... Thanks again for another great experience!

Oil Changes

Getting regular oil changes is a vital (and inexpensive) way to maintain your vehicle. Unfortunately, if you neglect this part of your routine maintenance, your vehicles health can dramatically decline putting you and your family in danger and out of a lot of money. Because your engine is made up of many moving parts, it's important that those parts stay lubricated so that they can do their jobs.  So why do you need oil changes so frequently? As the oil does its job, it gets contaminated with dust, debris and other things from inside the vehicle and the environment. Luckily, here at Meieneke Car Care Center, we offer oil changes to meet anyones needs.

"We want to make sure your vehicle receives the right kind of oil change at the right price. Our technicians will recommend the best type of oil for your car's individual needs to keep the engine working at its best. Meineke is proud to also offer 4 months of complimentary Roadside Assistance with the purchase of all oil change packages!"

"Our certified technicians will consider the make, model, condition and mileage of your car before recommending the necessary oil change. We offer synthetic blend, high mileage or full synthetic oil change packages that are recommended based on your car’s individual needs. All oil change packages include 4 months of complimentary Roadside Assistance, a tire pressure check, fluid top off, tire rotation, visual brake check, standard oil filter and our 23-point inspection."

Maintenance Monday - Engine Coolant

Our service advisor for Meineke, Garret Mixon, has given us some good Maintenance information on engine coolant. What it is - and why it's important. Be sure to stay tuned for the outtakes!

All About Engine Coolant

Engine coolant not only cools the engine, but also is a lubricant and has anti-corrosion additives. These additives break down over time and needs to be replaced. The type of coolant in your car will determine how often it will need to be replaced. There are two main types of coolant, Ethelyne Glycol and Propylene Glycol. Ethelyne Glycol is usually green and is toxic.  Never open the coolant reservoir with the engine hot. This is the stuff that you need to keep away from your pets. Propylene Glycol is more commonly used in modern cars because it is non-toxic and lasts longer. Both need to be checked regularly with a hydrometer. We check your coolant level every time you're in for an oil change here at our Meineke service department at Rath Auto Resources.
