  • September 01 thru 30th Canned Food Drive at Rath Auto Resources to benefit the River Valley Regional Food Bank. Please drop off all non-perishable food items at 4515 Towson Avenue in Fort Smith, Arkansas and we will make our final delivery October 1st. 
  • Septemeber 01, 2015 - National Library Card Sign Up Month at Fort Smith Public Library. All day.
  • September 06, 2015 - Legacy Concert at Fort Smith Sate Park. 7:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m.Celebrate the region's musical heritage at Lake Fort Smith State Park, featuring old time folk and mountain music from the group Bonafide. Fiddle, banjo, and guitars carry the listener back to the early days of settlement in the Ozarks. Meet on the back lawn of the visitor center; take lawn chairs or blankets. Admission: Free

  • September 10, 2015 - Patrick Angus: Paintings and Work on Paper - Fort Smith Regional Art Museum. Admission - $5.00 or free for RAM members.
  • September 10, 2015 - Western Arkansas Ballet Open House. 6:00-8:00pm - Enjoy a performance by the Western Arkansas Ballet Pre-Professional Company, learn about volunteering, enjoy refreshments, and meet the faculty and staff. Enter to win door prizes and bid on a silent auction item, a reserved parking spot during Nutcracker auditions and rehearsals. As the evening comes to a close, the spring ballet will be announced.
  • September 10, 2015 - Knox Street Book Club at Clayton House.  5:15-6:30pm. This club is offered to members of the Fort Smith Heritage Foundation, the nonprofit organization that preserves and operates the Clayton House. Membership, beginning at $50 for individuals, can be obtained online or over the phone.
  • September 11, 2015 - An Evening with Snakes of Arkansas  at Janet Huckabee River Valley Nature Center at 7:00pm.  Free admission.
  • September 11, 2015 - Rockin-Sockin-Swingin--50's and 60's Dance at Eagle's Ballroom. 8:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. Enjoy a variety of dance styles to music provided by a DJ in this smoke-free, low light environment. Dress attire is dressy-casual. $5 per dancer.

  • September 12, 2015 - Keep Arkansas Beautiful Campagin: Byrd's Mulberry River Cleanup - 7:00am-11:55pm. Volunteers will be rewarded for their efforts with a cookout, live music and door prizes. Lunch will be catered at noon by Steve Outlaw. Bands include Jamie Lou, Russell Corbin, Richard Burnett & The Outlaw Hippies, Woody & Sunshine, The Hard Cider Boys, Opal Agafia & The Sweet Nothings , Tyrannosaurus Chicken, and a few more surprises. Registration and drop off will be at Byrd's Adventure Center. Registration will begin at 7 a.m. Volunteers should register online.
  • September 12, 2015 - High Noon Matinee - Step back to the 19th century Old West, a period of transition that involved a mix of lawless men, colorful women, and good honest folk. This mixture of comedy and melodrama is meant to entertain as well as educate. Admission: Free

  • September 12, 2015 - Star Gazing at Lake Fort Smith State Park. 8:00-11:00pm. Free Admission. Explore the night sky above Lake Fort Smith with the Arkansas/Oklahoma Astronomical Society (AOAS) Star Gazing program. Head to the marina boat ramp at sundown where AOAS members will provide a number of telescopes. Take your own scopes and binoculars, as well as chairs and blankets. This is a weather dependent event.

The audience will be invited to participate in an offering that will benefit the Glory Girl Foundation, a non-profit ministry which provides support for families with hospital-bound children, by providing for their basic needs. In lieu of ticket sales, the public is encouraged to donate one household necessity such as: toiletries, cleaning supplies, personal hygiene and paper products, linens etc. These items will be used to furnish the Glory House in Little Rock, AR.
